Participation

Submit your application via the online form by Monday 13 June.

Apply now to attend the first Una Europa online training for PhD students: Entrepreneurial PhD Academy!

The training will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen your transversal skills such as entrepreneurship, market analysis, business modeling, and apply them to your research project.
  • Develop your international and multicultural network by cooperating in an interactive programme with peers, mentors and academics.
  • Acquire specific skills and useful tools for the development and success of your business idea.

This initiative is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program. The activities are completely free for selected participants.

What is the training programme?

By participating in the Una Europa Entrepreneurial PhD Academy you will:

  • engage in the path from technology to innovation
  • experiment with how to identify – with a designed process – business opportunities starting from a given technology
  • will work in teams of multidisciplinary PhD student peers

Day 1:

You will learn how to activate different mindsets (design for desirability, feasibility, and viability) and leverage your creative process. You will identify possible fields of application through a structured cognitive process (from technology to values).

Day 2:

You will validate the identified values and identify your design opportunities. You will select and interview experts from your network and open your design process to external actors. In a synthesis effort, you will converge around the best opportunities that you identified.

Day 3:

You will start from the identified opportunity area and develop a final solution, presented at the end of the day. The training approach will follow basic principles of stakeholders’ centred design and integrate MVP techniques to design for viability. The training will close with teams’ pitches.

Indicative timetable (Central European Summer Time):

Day 1 and day 2 - from 11:00 to 17:00, with lunch break of around one and a half hours.

Day 3 - from 11:00 to 18:30, with lunch break of around one and a half hours.

Other useful information

The language of the training will be English.

Online activities will be hosted on Lounjee, the platform supporting Una Europa networking opportunities for early career researchers.

Participants who attend all of the three days and complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance.
