We are excited to invite colleagues from Una Europa partner universities to the Symposium on Future Materials and Technologies, organised by the Una Europa Self-Steering Committee in Future Materials. This event will provide a unique platform for researchers, industry professionals and funding institutions to explore the cutting edge of materials science, foster new collaborations, and identify opportunities for joint initiatives within Una Europa.

About the Symposium

The event will focus on groundbreaking developments in material science, covering:

  • Sustainable Materials for Energy Applications.
  • Frontier Materials for Quantum and Data Technologies.
  • Biomedical Materials and Technologies.
  • Functional Nanomaterials for Environmental and Sensor Applications.

Through a carefully-curated programme of lectures, networking events, and cultural activities, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Discover the latest advancements in material science and technology.
  • Build collaborations and partnerships with colleagues across Europe.
  • Explore the vibrant city of Kraków and engage with Polish culture, while forming lasting professional relationships.

This exclusive event for colleagues from Una Europa partner universities aims to advance materials science and foster meaningful collaborations among researchers within the network.

Am I eligible to participate?

  • This event is open to researchers, academics, doctoral researchers and professionals in materials science and technologies at Una Europa partner universities.
  • English proficiency at Level B2 or higher is required, as the event will be conducted in English.

How can I apply?

Participation in the Symposium is free of charge for eligible participants. Before applying, please discuss your interest in participation and potential funding with your Una Europa institutional contact. Additionally, consider exploring alternative funding opportunities from your faculty or university unit.

  • Apply to participate in the Symposium by 30 November 2024 to be considered for the event.
  • Participant selection will be made by Una Europa universities and communicated by the Future Materials coordination team, Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie by 12 December 2024.

Please note: Each of our Una Europa partner universities reserves the right to close the application earlier if they receive a large number of applications. It’s best to send your application sooner than later. Please bear in mind that applying doesn’t mean that you will automatically be accepted.

Using the same application form, you can also apply to participate in the affiliated event, Una Europa StartScience 2025, taking place on January 22-23 2025 at Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie.

The Symposium on Future Materials and Technologies is organised by the Una Europa Self-Steering Committee in Future Materials as part of their activities initiated under the Una.Futura project.
