Joint Bachelor's programmes
A key pillar Una Europa's vision for the European University of the Future is truly joint Bachelor degrees. Una Europa partners will build fully integrated curricula and jointly award the degrees. In practice, this means that on successful completion of their studies, students will receive one single degree document that is officially recognised by the countries in which the Una Europa partners are active.
In 2022 Una Europa will pilot its first truly joint Bachelor degree, the Bachelor in European Studies. Our first cohort will commence their studies in September 2022, and recruitment is currently underway.

Since its inception in Bologna in 1999, the European Higher Education Area has advanced steadily, making European education systems more comparable and compatible. The Bologna process has been crucial in facilitating mobility, increasing employability and strengthening Europe’s attractiveness as a brilliant place to study and learn. However, joint European bachelor degrees are still few and far between - and often the result of an agreement between two or three universities at the most. Una Europa is committed to change this and help make the European Higher Education Area a reality.
We will pilot this new type of degree in two of our Focus Areas: European Studies and Sustainability.
The Joint European Bachelor is part of the Joint Innovative Formats developed under the 1Europe project.
